| The car was predominately built by Maurice, with Brett Molesworth building the Chrome Molly Roll cage. The car was built in just nine months. With one day to spare, ready for the 10th Anniversary Dunlop Targa. Six days of racing from Auckland to Wellington, via, New Plymouth, Palmerston North and Hastings. On debut finishing 23rd out of 200 starters. |
| From then on, Maurice has raced the Monaro in two, two day targa’s (Tauranga 4th & Rotorua 5th), 05 Targa, 17th (out of 230 cars) Super GT class races, 06 North Island Endurance Series 5th overall, 3rd Pukekohe 6hr Race, 3rd in class. |
Maurice & Sheryl (Maurice’s Co-driver & Partner) decided that they would drive the car to New Zealand’s most Southern race track, Teretonga in Invercargil. Race in a three hour endurance race then drive back to Whakatane. Taking with only what they could fit in the car, needless to say, that not much shopping was done.
