Brent Emerson

Brent has been involved with racing for the last 25 years, firstly racing Motorcycles but more recently in cars.

Over a number of years, he has had great success on motorcycles, mostly Dirt Bikes, winning numerous North island & NZ titles. He has also claimed multiple senior Moto-X, flat track TT, beach race & road racing titles along with a Pro 250cc Open class title

1996, Brent has his first taste of Speedway Saloon car Racing in a Holden commodore,

then progressed to a Pontiac Trans Am Super Saloon.
In his first season he finished 3rd I the local points series.

1999/2000 finishing 2nd & 3rd respectively in the North island Champs

Brent started racing on the tarmac in his VK SS Commodore. He competed in the Central Muscle Car series in the winter season. He also entered the Dunlop Targa in 07 and won the Classic section on debut. He has competed in the New Plymouth tarmac rally finishing 2nd in class. Dunlop Rotorua Targa 08 he finished 2nd in the Classic section. He was also crowned top Entertainer of the Targa rally.
Sheryl has teamed up with Brent, and now co-drives in all the Tarmac Targa events.

Sheryl Hanright – Track Drive NZ Ltd Owner, has always been around Motor racing most of her life. Father, John, started racing Speedway in the 60’s right through to the early 80’s. He was one of the original Palmerston North Pantha’s Stockcar team member. He then changed to Salooncars, racing a Escort, Chev Nova and finally a RS Chevy Camaro, retiring in 1982.

Sheryl has competed in every Dunlop Targa Rally’ since 2004, as navigator, finishing in the top ten on three occasions in the Modern class, and 2nd in the 2008 Rotorua Dunlop Targa.

She has also navigated in a Group A Jet Sprint boat, competing in the World Series round held in Whakatane 2003.

2006, Sheryl travelled to Mt Cotton in Brisbane to complete the Porsche Driving School two day Advanced driving course with instructors - Thomas Mazera and Craig Baird.She drove brand new Porsches around the police training course and raced them around Willowbank Raceway in Brisbane.

Middle

2008, Sheryl went to Charlotte, North Carolina - USA, to Lowes Motor Speedway, the heart of NASCAR racing in America, to compare other driving experiences to Track Drive. She got to have hot laps in Jeff Gordon’s last seasons car, reaching speeds of 180mph, truly an unreal experience.

Sheryl started racing herself, in the NZ Saloon Car Racing series in the 2006/07 season, learning quickly that Class racing is all about driving skill. In the 2007/08 season Sheryl won the ’Top Ladies’ trophy, ’Most Improved Driver’ and finished 4th in the North Island Series and 5th in NZ series. Sheryl is currently one of the Top drivers in the series that race at Pukekohe, Taupo & Manfield circuits
